Platanillo · Southern Pacific Costa Rica
A private four-bedroom micro eco-resort above Dominical, built from natural materials — red cedar ceilings, cool coralina floors, and hand-laid mosaics — wrapped in rainforest and a mile of private trails.

A home, not a hotel
Casa Cavu sits on a green ridge in Platanillo, just fifteen minutes from Dominical Beach and Nauyaca Waterfalls. This private luxury retreat blends refined comfort, handcrafted design, and the wild beauty of Costa Rica.
The home features four air-conditioned bedrooms, six bathrooms, open-air living spaces, red cedar ceilings, coralina stone floors, hand-laid mosaics, and locally sourced wood throughout. Outside, enjoy a resort-style pool, covered terraces, lush tropical gardens, and over a mile of private hiking trails through the jungle.
Along the trails and around the property, guests may encounter toucans, white-faced monkeys, iguanas, anteaters, sloths, and other wildlife. With space for up to twelve guests, Casa Cavu offers the privacy, comfort, and natural immersion of an exclusive luxury micro eco-resort.
The land
Over a mile of private hiking trails winds through the property — past tropical gardens, towering palms, a fruit forest, and quiet places to sit and listen. The wildlife moves freely, and the only thing on your list is to slow down and take it in.

The mosaics
Wrapping the kitchen is an extraordinary work of art — a hand-cut mosaic of the Costa Rican rainforest. A jaguar peers through the leaves, a toucan and scarlet macaw perch in the canopy, hummingbirds dart past hibiscus, and a sea turtle glides beneath a tile-laid sunset. Every piece was cut and placed by hand.
